Family Updates
March 20, 2010
Wow, I made it almost a year since our last update. That is a bit crazy. Well, even this one will be quick. More on the kids than Steve and I. So here we go:

Devan has just started high school baseball. He made the freshman team here in Post Falls and is the starting catcher for them. He is loving every minute of it and I think it is his "heaven on earth". He just started home schooling this past semester and enjoys the idea of being home, but we will probably be switching the school in which we home school through next year. It is all an adjustment and we are learning what we like and what we don't. Home schooling him has made baseball a lot easier on him and allowed him to enjoy both school and baseball without a ton of stress or late nights. I have to say though, the wonderful weather here in Post Falls this spring has made baseball that much more wonderful for us all! He has found it necessary to take a leave from the worship team while doing baseball. This was a tough decision for him as he LOVES to play bass ALMOST as much as he loves baseball. I know that when baseball season is over, he will be excited to get back to playing.

Cameron is home schooling as well. I think he likes it, at least he says he wants to do it next year, so that is a plus. He got to play the drums for worship for the first time all the way through the whole set this past Wednesday. He was so excited and it was an amazing blessing for Steve and I to be able to see him do this. I think we both got a little teary eyed as we watched God just move through him in his gifting. Such an awesome experience as a parent to watch your child  walk in his annointing.

Nathan just had baseball tryouts today. If you ask me how I am going to handle all these sports at one time all I can say is...one day at a time (cause I really have no clue). He is excited to be playing again. His true love is golf, but that is a bit more expensive, so he had to settle with baseball for a bit longer. He will get to use his clubs soon enough and Lord knows we will probably have another prodigy on our hands. The kid has a great swing! Makes dad proud (and probably a little jealous ;-) ). He is home schooling as well and thriving at it! He absolutely loves it. His best friend is as well and they only live 2 houses away, so it makes for good company. I can forsee keeping him home schooling for awhile as most days are really enjoyable with him.

You can see Faith's update on her update page.

Steve started a new job about a month ago and is loving it. His hours are much better than they were and that makes for a happy mommy and daddy. He no longer gets home at 9p.m after working 14hr days. His drive is also shorter, so all of that is a plus. Steve went back to school this past semester and is studying to get his B.S. in Finance through Liberty University. I am so proud of him for this.

What can I say about me but that I sit around eating cookies and ice cream all day watching t.v...yea right! Between school (just at the end of my jr year), home schooling the kids, sports, meets, and church I stay pretty busy. I am hoping to run a 10k at the end of April, but we will see how that goes depending on my energy level if Faith goes back on iv's. Those late nights and early mornings always make it a bit difficult to train. Other than that, not much going on with me. Just being a busy mom raising 4 wonderful kiddos.

I hope that those of you who read this are having a blessed year and that this Spring holds many joys for you. Be blessed and have a Joyful and Happy Easter! HE IS RISEN!

Well, again, through the upgrade of her website we lost all Family updates, so we will have to start from scratch, but that is ok. Where to begin, it has been quite a year with us already. In January Devan and I got to go to an awesome youth conference over in Portland called Generation Unleashed. It was an amazing weekend filled with amazing worship, amazing teaching, good friends, and good times! Did I mention the lack of sleep and long drive? Not the highlight, but was all worth it for the kids in our youth group. On February 17th Steve's mom passed away and went home to be with Jesus. As hard as this was on all of us, we are happy in the fact that she is pain free and with her God! We were able to go down and be with the family and attend her funeral and burial a few weeks ago in California. As emotional of a trip as that was, it was nice to see everyone again. It has been a year and a half since we had been home. Steve is doing well and has been extremely blessed at his job. Of course, he is still grieving the loss of his mother, and your prayers for him are always welcomed.

I am still going strong in school and just finished 2 classes and started my 3rd for this semester. I am excited to be working mainly on classes for my major now. The counseling courses that I started to take this semester are amazing and I am learning SO much from them.

Devan is entering his favorite time of year, of course that is baseball season. He just got placed on a team and had to work through the fact that he was playing for the Mariners. The fact that he got drafted to the same team as his best friend, seemed to help with that a bit. I think that just made his season. Their first practice was last night and he has been walking on cloud 9 since. I bet if I let him he would sleep in his catchers gear! He is still playing bass for the youth group and getting better everyday if you ask me. I am not sure what scares everyone about teenagers. For us, so far they have been a tremendous blessing. I pray this continues! He makes me so proud.

Cameron is doing well, still going strong on the drums and enjoying his lessons. He is doing well in school and made A honor roll for the whole school year so far! He is looking forward to being able to be apart of our church youth group this summer. He has waited so long for that.

Nathan just finished up basketball and is now onto baseball season. He has decided to follow in his brothers foot steps and wants to be a catcher as well. He is doing very well in school as well and also made A honor roll.

Faith is excited cause she just got her ears pierced. She is still at home with mom most of the time and will be until September. She goes to school Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. She is excited for that as well. She keeps bugging me to get her into gymnastics and I need to just do it as she has wanted this for sometime. She would also like to start cheer, but when she found out you have to do it in front of people, she changed her mind. :-).

That about sums up the updates from this part of Idaho. We love and miss you all that are in Cali and look forward to seeing you in June when we come down for a wedding that Faith is in. Be blessed in all that God has for you!
